As as historian of label art and label usage, I have spent more than 20 years scouring Washington state, Oregon and California, seeking labels and information from farmers, packing houses, antique stores, commercial artists, lithograph houses and printing industry retirees. It has been a continual paper-chase. And, though I mostly write about labels, I actually collect a lot of other types of other related material. Here is a list of items I am trying to find. CRATE LABELS: Fruit and Vegetable labels of all kinds, shapes, ages, condition, for all types of produce, even if they are still on the wooden crate (I know a process get them off safely). This includes Oranges, Lemons, apples, pears, peaches, melons, plums, prunes, grapes, Cranberry, big round barrel labels, Raisin box labels dried fruits, applets &cotletts, yams, sweet potato labels. FRUIT RELATED PRINTING: There are also a number of printed products used by fruit marketing companies, to help promote their goods, including: fruit wrappers, box curtains, price cards, fruit company posters, Fruit company tin signs, buttons, letterheads, calling cards, store posters, cookbooks and promotional materials, etc
SUNKIST JUICERS / EXTRACTORS
Glass juicersfor orange, lemon and grapefruit juice. Must say "Sunkist" "Porterville" or "American Fruit Growers" actually embossed into the glass. Extractors must bear the Sunkist logo on them, electric or crank styles.
FOOD CAN LABELS: American canning labels 1850 - 1950, especially California Packing Corp., and early California packing companies, canning in general. Santa Clara Valley.
SALMON and SEAFOOD CAN LABELS: Salmon and seafood canning labels, especially from Alaska, Washington, British Columbia, California and the Canadian Maritimes.
